At 9pm on a wet Monday evening just before Christmas and less than 24 hours after I got back from a long holiday, I arrived home to find my kitchen floor awash with water pouring out from my boiler. Obviously (!) I panicked but then remembered that I have an annual contract with Wilgar h& v contractors. I called the number on the boiler and the engineer arrived within 20 minutes, identified the problem immediately and rectified it. By 21.40 the floor was dry, the boiler working perfectly and I could breathe again. This contract with a local company proved its worth - in spades - and I am so grateful for the speedy, efficient and cheerful service from the company. I can't recommend it highly enough
I don't normally write reviews but really impressed with the service from ACWilgars. Becky was extremely helpful in explaining the process and booking me in (also got a text to confirm). The workman Paul arrived on time AND I got a text to let me know he was on his way which was really handy. He was friendly and professional and I felt completely at ease with him in my home. I also signed up to the Crystal plan which after looking in to it was great value compared to similar ones on the market. Will be recommending to my friends for sure.
From the person on the end of the phone when I called the office, to the engineer who attended later that day, I cannot fault these guys. They resolved my issue for a reasonable price and left my home cleaner than when they arrived! I’ve had some dodgy plumbers in the past so it’s good to know there’s a firm out there I can trust going forward. Well done team Wilgar, one very happy customer. Couldn’t recommend more highly.
Super reliable and do a great job. Used A.C. for my last few plumbing requirements and would not consider looking anywhere else in the future. They’ve sent me the same guy (Lee - absolute champ) every time, so makes things nice and easy. Thoroughly recommend A.C. to anyone and everyone.
I called the A C Wilgars office at 8am in the morning to report I had no hot water and the Engineer Gary was knocking on the door by 11am with a valve changed and the problem sorted by 12pm. Very professional and speedy service which I will definitely be recommending to friends and family
We had our boiler serviced by Jack. He was very friendly, efficient and helpful.

I emailed A C Wilgar with my requirements and they quickly arranged a survey. Billy arrived and went through the various checks. To me it seemed like a big task, replacing an old system with several parts for a new combi. Billy’s expertise, easy-going style and professional approach reassured me this was routine work for them. As promised a quote arrived by email later that day. I placed the order right away as I was already impressed.
The installer, George, arrived on time and set about transforming the clunky mess in the two cupboards, bulky water and hot water tanks and confusing piping were all removed. He had to drill a new flu hole which was not easy in an old building with thick walls, and he just got on with it. Thanks to George's suggestion the combi boiler was perfectly positioned so I can install a counter underneath, making that avoided unusable part of the kitchen into a usable space. He was diligent, hardworking and really easy to get along with. No fuss, no mess, everything left clean and tidy afterwards.
This is a professional well organised business and people who are easy to work with, which really counts to me. From the survey from Billy, the quote and the installer, George, their expertise is obvious. Their price was great, and George went above and beyond to make this happen on the day. I've found a first class outfit who delivered a quality service. What seemed like a daunting task to me was straightforward and routine for them and I am very pleased with the outcome.

A C Wilgar is such a professional plumbing company - they give you appointments the earliest possible to suit your availability; they are very understanding and sympathetic towards your circumstances; and therefore find you the best of plumber they have available to suit your needs. I have used their plumber, Stuart, on two occasions, he was excellent - very down to earth; very easy to talk to and understood immediately my worries, my predicaments and gave me the best of advice and suggestions; his skills and efficiency were absolutely first class (he is actually very renowned!)!
Their admin team is just as good, everybody was so helpful; so reliable and articulate. My main source of help was from the lady, Emma Calrow, I felt ever so comfortable talking to her about any problem (in the context of plumbing issues). She was a very very good listener, terribly patient with me no matter what the issue was. She was always calm and did her very best to work things out for me - she always seemed to go a bit further in order to get me the help and support I needed; there was not once I was let down because she was just 100% reliable; she always kept her words, you could trust her all the way, wonderful (aren't these the qualities you would only expect in a manager?)
All in all, AC Wilgar is simply a professional first class plumbing shop one can rely on 100%, whether in terms of efficiency; plumber skills and experiences (by all accounts, the plumber, Lee, is also superb.); and their understanding of your needs!
I called AC Wilgar as I had an issue with my boiler. As soon as they heard we were without hot water they gave me the earliest possible appointment they could.
When I called the office Tuesday early evening for an update I was given up to date timings for the engineer's arrival and a text was sent when he was on his way.
The engineer Gary arrived and was really helpful, he explained exactly what the problem was, why it had happened and what was needed to make the system work again. He also gave us an idea of the cost.
The job quote system was easy to use, we received an email and I accepted the quote online. Within 10 minutes I had received a call to schedule the visit. Again, as I had no hot water, Lewis did his best to get the earliest time he could to get the work carried out.
All in all a really great experience and they have made what could have been a drawn out process easy and stress free. I would definitely recommend them and they will be our go to company with plumbing issues.
A.C. Wilgar Plumbing and Heating recently completed the installation of my new heating system, and I am very impressed with the service provided. The plumbers George Fuller and his apprentice carried out the work in a very professional manner. The job was not straight forward, however, at no point did any of the problems they encountered become an issue for them. George explained everything in detail. He went the extra mile to provide the best possible solutions to my needs, and he was more than happy to listen to what my requirements were, offering suggestions on what would work best. I was also impressed with the company's ability to bring more engineers to the job as it required it, including Ben Stirling and Peter Blunden who again provided great service. This clearly helped get the job completed in good time. I will definitely be recommending A.C. Wilgar Plumbing and Heating to my friends in the future.

I phoned on a Sunday in an emergency. A very helpful human answered and booked a technician. I got a text on my mobile phone tracking the engineer. He arrived and was very friendly and helpful, diagnosed the problem and got the heating and hot water working again. It was close to freezing point outside.
I will be switching my maintenance and service to A.C. Wilgar and cancelling the British Gas "Homecare" policy I have had for many years. British Gas no longer have a phone service. When the boiler broke down I had to open an online account and book an engineer visit. The earliest was four days... and not the "we're here for you 24/7" they advertised when I took out the policy.
I cannot recommend A.C. WILGAR highly enough.
We have now used Wilgars twice to install new boilers (at different properties). We have found them to be extremely organised, efficient and knowledgeable. In one case, they were the only company that we could find to install the new boiler within our urgent timeframe. In the other situation their knowledge and experience saved us a significant amount of money as they found a solution that was not offered by the other companies who quoted.
We have experienced nothing but a very high level of professionalism from their employees who have always explained exactly what they need to do to complete the works and have kept the disruption and mess to a minimum.
I phoned Wilgar up tonight because I was so impressed with Joe and Tom who replaced an immersion heater today. They were courteous at all times, worked extremely hard and were a credit to themselves and your company. Tom was a willing learner and, as a teacher myself, I was especially impressed at the way in which Joe coached Tom through the project. He was calm and patient at all times and explained things very well.
They really do deserve a great well done. People like that give your company a very good name.
Very impressed with the whole process. From the initial quote given by Mr Wilgar, to arranging the boiler installation & then the fitting, was hassle free. Day of installation, George & George turned up bang on 8am & proceded to get on with things whilst keeping me updated with progress. Two very nice & cheerful guys who are obviously very good at what they do. A follow up call to make sure all was well & my house is nice & warm again. Excellent, thanks to all concerned.
Professional attention to the servicing of my boiler and gas fire. I received a text when the engineer, Jack Fleet, was on his way. He was efficient, friendly, informative and a clean and tidy worker.
Cost was as initially quoted.
The Service Director telephoned about an hour after the engineer left to check everything was OK. Further confirmation that AC Wilgar care for their customers.
We used AC Wilgar last year when we had a new boiler installed and the service we received was fantastic. This year Jack came to give the boiler it's first service and was friendly, polite, helpful and efficient, explaining everything that he was doing and why he was doing it! Great service.
